Caroline Hawley hunt for mess

Caroline Hawley was one of the antique experts on Bargain Hunt and other similar shows. She would appear on these shows quite regularly. She was a contemporary of such other experts as Kate Bliss and Natasha Raskin. From time to time there would be special episodes of Bargain Hunt where there would be a forfeit for the losing team’s expert. Not in real life of course, but in the realm of this story site, although it would be amazing if it ever was to happen for real. It would certainly make the show a whole lot more interesting and would certainly add some extra drama to the proceedings. Some of the other experts had competed in this way. It was now her turn to take part. She did not want to take part at all, but she had no choice, because most of her colleagues had already taken part in the past. She was one of the few who had avoided this.

Caroline was a bit of an eccentric. She was a slightly older woman. She would wear slightly outrageous brightly coloured and hideous outfits on the show. She took pride in these outfits though and did not really want them to get covered in mess. She wondered if she should wear her hideous red checker board suit or her hideous green loud printed skirt. She chose the skirt. One of them might be ending up covered in mess. She did not want to be the person whose team lost. She did not want to be the one who was going to end up covered in disgusting mess.

Her opponent was going to be a strange looking man wearing a funny hat and a purple velvet suit. He was a bit of a strange fellow. He was always having a laugh. This would have strongly suggested that he may be the person who was most likely to be on the losing end and getting the punishment. To lose to him would be extremely humiliating for her. He would like nothing better than embarrassing the slightly serious, middle aged expert that she was.

When the host introduced the show, he told the audience that this episode was for Sports Relief, but a part from that, there was a very special added bonus on the show. He stated that the expert from the winning team was going to get to dump sloppy mess all over the expert from the losing team. The stakes were going to be much higher than usual. This made the entire show much tenser. Caroline was quite a distinguished, experienced woman. The thought of getting covered in revolting mess was something that she did not want to happen. It was something, however, that would be hilarious to behold. If she were to lose, it would mean complete humiliation on a grand scale.

The possible forfeit was mentioned at the beginning of the show. There was a quick clip where Caroline was asked how she felt about the prospect of getting messed. “Well, I am obviously hoping that I will win. I can’t bear the thought of what will happen if I were to lose,” she replied. Her opponent was then asked the same. “It would be a pleasure to get to dump sloppy disgusting mess all over Ms. Hawley. Hopefully, I will be the winner,” he replied.

The show went as normal. Each team selected three items and there was a bonus buy for each team. Caroline kept referring throughout the show that they had better choose well so that she may be saved and spared the mess. Both teams did their best to win. It was always a close call on Bargain Hunt because no one was ever exactly sure how much something was going to sell for at an auction on the day. Both teams did very well though. On this occasion, Caroline’s team made a £100 profit. She was hoping that this would be enough to win. On most shows this would have been enough to win. There were many occasions where teams lost money on their items. Caroline was breathing a bit easier at this point thinking that she may have done enough to win the day.

It was finally time for the results. Caroline and her opponent’s teams were all their positions. The host then began to speak,” What a splendid day we all had today. I can say that both teams made a profit. That will all go to charity. The question is, who came in first and who was the runner up. It was very close indeed. Of course, there is a lot more at stake today than usual, because we had a special wager between the teams. The winning team’s expert is going to get to pour revolting, sloppy mess all over the losing team’s expert. Someone is going to get it and get it good. It is time to reveal who that is.” Caroline and the other expert were shown crossing their fingers anxiously awaiting the results. “Caroline’s team made a profit of £100 on their items.  I can reveal that your opponents also made a profit, but did they make more? I can reveal that the other team’s profit totalled… £125. Caroline’s team are our losers.”

Caroline’s mouth fell open in shock. The other expert jumped for joy. He was very, very pleased. He was now going to get to totally mess Caroline. She covered her face with her hands as he pointed and laughed at her.

A chair was brought out. She had to sit in it, reluctantly. She adjusted her skirt as she sat down. She was blushing. She looked completely embarrassed. The winning team and the winning expert were dancing around her celebrating what was about to happen to her. All of her friends and colleagues were going to be watching this. She was mortified.

He started with a large creamy pie. He held it out in front of her. She shook her head and waved her hands telling him to spare her. She had just enough time to close her eyes as he pushed the pie straight up into her face. He twisted it around in her face. She closed her eyes as she felt the creamy pie rubbing around on her face. When he let go the pie plate tumbled down her body onto her lap. Her face was covered in creamy pie. Her blonde hair was streaked with white cream.

She shook her head and picked pieces of pie crust off of her face. He then had the opportunity to pour a bucket of dark green gunge over her. This was not quite like the normal green viscous slime or the lumpy gunge. It was smooth and a deep dark green colour. He took the bucket and held it over her head. She closed her eyes and lowered her head.

He took aim, starting to pour the sloppy gunge over her head. It poured down her head, covering her hair in sloppy green mess. It rolled down the side of her face and then down her nose and cheeks. It poured down onto her shoulders and down her chest. He then poured more onto her skirt and onto her legs. She cringed as she felt the slimy green mess all over her body. It was over and inside of her clothing. It weighed down the fabric of her blouse and her skirt. She could feel it dripping all over her body.

She shook her head and laughed in embarrassment and the winners danced around her, celebrating her embarrassment. She flicked some of the gunge off of her face. She could do nothing more than blush.

The host then came to her and asked how she was feeling. “Oh I..I am fine,” she said reluctantly,” I think I am going to need a shower,” she joked. “Well thanks to all of our contestants for being such good sports especially Caroline Hawley.  We will see you next time.” Caroline pushed some of the collected gunge from off of her skirt as the credits began to roll.
