Mollie Gallagher, Nina Coronation Street

Mollie Gallagher, Nina Coronation Street

Mollie Gallagher played Nina, Roy Cropper’s niece on Coronation Street. She was a chubby goth girl. She had a pierced nose and wore black clothing and make up. The two sometimes argued over various issues. They were still family, but Roy really annoyed Nina sometimes. She sometimes imagined getting the opportunity to embarrass him. She had seen that there was an ad online asking for people who wanted to get back at their family members. There was a television show that was coming up shortly. It was in the style of Willem Wever where someone would challenge another person, usually their teacher to a sixty second quiz. The winner would get to dump a bucket of mess all over the loser. Nina loved the idea of this. The chance to defeat her uncle and embarrass him on national television was too good to pass up. What she did not account for was the fact that Roy was an extremely intelligent and well-read person. This would not really be to her advantage. It was hard to imagine him losing a quiz.

The set up sort of like Noel’s House Party where Nina and Roy were sat in the audience together until their part of the show arrived. Roy, of course, was not told by Nina what would be happening. She wanted it to be a big surprise. Also, she knew that he would never agree to come on the show if he knew what would be happening ahead of time. Nina was quite excited. She imagined what it would be like to win and to humiliate her uncle.

Their time finally arrived. The host spoke on the microphone. “This part of the show is where an audience member challenges a family member or friend to our quiz. Today we have Nina and Roy. Can you please join us on stage?” A spotlight illuminated them. Nina looked very excited, nudging Roy on to get onto stage. He looked shocked and perplexed by the situation. They were escorted up on stage. Roy was very reluctant.

When they arrived on stage, they were greeted by the host. “Welcome to the show. Can you please introduce yourselves?” “I am Nina from Wetherfield and this is my uncle Roy.” “Nina you wanted to come on the show to challenge your uncle Roy to a little competition. I am not sure if you have seen the show before, but how it works is we have a sixty second quiz. You each have green and red flags. Questions will be asked. They are true or false questions. You must hold up green for true and red for false. After sixty seconds we will see who has the most answers correct. Then the winner will get to do something very special. They will get to take the special slop bucket and will get to pour it all over the other person’s head.” The crowd cheered. Nina looked at Roy and giggled. Roy was sort of stone faced. He was not too sure what was happening. He did not really want to be there, but he knew that he could beat his niece at any quiz that they could possibly propose.

They were then turned back to back and handed their respective flags. “Ok, if everyone is ready, your sixty seconds starts now.” The first three questions were relatively easy. They both got them correct. The studio audience were told not to say very much because they did not want the contestants to know who was winning or losing. As the time went on there was a question that was more difficult regarding Mount Everest. Nina guessed true, but it was untrue. She rolled her eyes. She then ended up getting two more wrong. Roy got the second to last question wrong as well. Both had answers incorrect, so neither was entirely sure of the outcome, as they could not see or know what the other had guessed. Finally the time ran out. They were turned to face the audience.

“So, you both got at least one question wrong,” the host said,” But one of you got more wrong than the other. I can now reveal that our winner is..,” he paused for dramatic effect. Both Nina and Roy looked a bit anxious. “Roy, congratulations.” Nina threw her hands down. She laughed and blushed, shaking her head. “I think you deserve to do this Roy. Your niece brought you on the show to try and embarrass you. I think she deserves this don’t you audience?” They cheered their approval. Nina waved her hands. “ Oh no, please, don’t,” she begged.

Roy was given a step ladder to stand on so he could be in prime position to gunge his niece. The chubby goth girl blushed. It was she that was now about to receive the public messing at the hands of her uncle rather than the other way around. She was about to get covered in the thick brown sloppy gunge that was contained in that bucket. The mess that she had imagined dumping all over her uncle was now going to be dumped all over her instead.

She got into position. She crossed her arms and closed her eyes. She was dressed in all black with a skirt. “I’m sure that everyone back home in Weatherfield is eagerly watching in anticipation. Everyone on Coronation Street is going to be watching this, I bet. Uncle Roy, it is time to get your revenge on your lovely niece.”

Roy was a bit hesitant at first, but he understood that she had been dying to set him up for embarrassment. In all actuality, she had literally brought this upon herself. He looked down as she looked up. She waved as he began to pour the brown gunge down upon her.

The gunge rolled down the top of her head and then down the sides of her face, before picking up speed, covering her face in brown gunge. It covered her nose ring and rolled over her black lipstick and eyeliner. It then poured down her chest and back before showering her chubby body in thick brown mess. She could do nothing but chuckle to herself in a way to signify, “I can’t believe that this is happening.” The crowd howled and roared in laughter seeing her get covered in mess.

Her hair and clothes were matted and covered in brown mess. Her pale skin was showered in sloppy brown mess. It was completely humiliating. The mess poured and poured all over her. When it finally stopped, she took a deep breath and shook her head. She looked a little bit furious. She shook her head and laughed more out of disgust and disbelief. She was completely humiliated.

Luckily for her Roy was a kind person and never mentioned it. Others like Carla Conner would tease her about it, telling her that she deserved everything she got.
