Bridget Fonda Throwback
Bridget Fonda was a star in the nineties. She was very much a product of that time. When anyone thought of her, they would recall that time period. She had faded into some obscurity in later years, but she was very famous for a time. There was a revival of some of the nineties messy shows. One of these being Wild Animal Games. The best part about Wild Animal Games was the part of the show where they would have to kids competing and the loser’s parent would have to face messy punishment. The show was, of course hosted by Ryan Seacrest along with a very odd monkey called Eddie. In the revival, the game was pretty much the same. The only real change being that the kids were replaced by adults. They were actually grown up versions of some of the kids that had originally been on the show years earlier. Instead of competing for their parents, they now would be competing on behalf of a nineties celebrity. In this case it would be the girls vs. the guys. There was a woman competing for Bridget and a guy competing on behalf of a male celebrity. He was a cheesy actor from a bad TGIF sitcom. Everyone expected the guys to lose this one. The people competing were actually contestants who had won the game when they were on the show previously. The game was not rigged. The contestants had even more incentive to win because they really wanted to see the celebrity of the opposite gender covered in mess.
Before the game began, Ryan explained that the bucket dump would be used today. Loaded in it was creamed corn. One of the two celebrities would end up covered in it. Bridget and the male celebrity looked at the bowl of creamed corn. Bridget made a worried, funny face, clenching her teeth and giggling a bit. Ryan then came over and spoke to her. He asked how she was feeling. She replied,” I am just keeping my fingers crossed. I know that the outcome is out of my hands. I am praying that it won’t be me who ends up covered in that crap.” The male celebrity did one of his funny voices that he was known for and then said,” I think it’s going to be her.” She laughed.
The game worked as normal. Some clips were played about an animal. This time, the animals were chickens. The contestants were then asked questions about that animal. It was not the longest of segments. On the first question, the female contestant buzzed in and got the answer correct. Bridget clapped. The lead was one to nothing at this point. On the second question, the male contestant rang in and was correct, tying the score at one point each. Bridget looked over and begged her contestant to get the next one right. On the third question, the female contestant rang in. She answered, but there was a pause while everyone waited to hear if she was correct or not. Unfortunately for Bridget, it was revealed that the answer was not correct. Her team had lost two points to one. Bridget gave her best shocked face. Ryan congratulated the winners.
“Now, we know what that means. We know what that means for Bridget in particular. Bridget, your contestant did not manage to win the quiz and now, you are the one who is about to pay the consequences.” Bridget squirmed. She looked up. “Can I reconsider?,” she joked. “Well, it is far too late for that now,” he joked. “In fact, I need you to have a seat right on that stool in the centre if you will.” She sat on the seat and looked with trepidation above her. “I hate creamed corn,” she complained. “Well, fortunately for you, you will not be eating any of this creamed corn. Instead it will just be getting all over you.” The female contestant was called over to do the honours of pulling the cord on the bucket dump.
Bridget looked at her and shook her head. “I trusted you!,”
she joked. Ryan then called for everyone to countdown from three. “Three…two..one,”
everyone shouted. The contestant smiled as she pulled the cord on Bridget.
Bridget looked up just as the creamed corn began to fall from one bucket to
another and then began to fall down all over her. She screamed as it began to
pour onto her hair, forehead and right down her face. She closed her eyes as it
began to pour faster. She held her palms out as cream corn rained down over
her. It fell all over her body. It poured down her neck and shoulders and all
over her legs, on her thighs and knees and down her calves. She pulled her head
back as another wave of creamed corn streamed over her face. She was in perfect
position under the bucket dump, meaning the creamed corn was able to cover her
almost completely. As it slowed, she shook her head and wiggled her shoulders.
She threw her hands in the air.
Everyone in the studio was laughing at her and enjoying this
immensely. Ryan thanked her but dared not to get too close. She crinkled her
nose, laughed and waived.
